In the samples shown
here of the Orange County Fairs Automobile Museum, some images with
mildly bad lighting were well handled by the auto adjustment of Photoshop
Album, the second set needed more customized adjustment with the use
of Brightness and Contrast Control, Lighting manual control. Still,
the repair was easily accomplished and even a neophyte could handle
it with a bit of experimenting over time.

Some repairs need more manual controls
The
Joy of Sharing
As Adobe puts it so well in their Feature Highlights, the best part
of taking digital photos is the “Joy of Sharing” and this
is the main feature the Photoshop Album does so well. Adobe has design
this portion of the software package so well that it is virtually automated.
You have number
of fun choices for share your photos and all of them are easy to do.
It is as simple as picking the photos using the Tags you created or
by dates they were created, or even selected individually. You then
simply pick the sharing package from the “Select a Template”
window you what to use for email or by PDF (portable document file)
and Photoshop Album automatically resizes the images for the perfect
results printed, on-screen display or their “go-anywhere PDF album”.
Photoshop
Album even provides free Adobe Acrobat® Reader® software. Incase
the recipient does not have Adobe Acrobat® already installed on
their computer.
There are plenty of
other sharing options too; like easily creating slide shows with captions,
video clips and music background, all of which is then burned to a VCD
or DVD with no additional second party software needed. Of course you
do need to have a CD-R for the VCD, or a DVD Burner. These can viewed
on a computer or on a TV of the viewer has a compatible VCD or DVD player.
Also included in the “Creation Wizard” are easy to use Photo
Albums, Calendars, Greeting and eCards, Photo Book and a wild “Atmosphere
3D Gallery. It will even build a ready to upload Web Site Photo Gallery;
all you’ll need is a place to host your gallery for friends to view
online.
The
Bottom Line
Photoshop Album is a joy to use and create with, you will be absorbed
with it from the very beginning. It can do virtually everything you’d
want to do in archiving your image collection and finding fun ways to
share your favorites.
The only negative we can really express is that the interface is pure Adobe and very Photoshop like and so a bit scary for the total computer nymph. But if you read the manual (yes, actually take it out of the box please!) and are willing the learn the basics, it will be the last time you’ll need to refer to it unless you forget something.
