22Mbps
Wireless Range Extender and Access Point, the D-Link AirPlus DWL-800AP+.
The new D-Link Wireless
Range Extender includes a repeater function to increase the wireless
range in large homes and buildings. Operating in the 2.4GHz frequency
range, D-Link's DWL-800AP+ is an access point with a
wireless repeating function that extends the range of the wireless network
by up to 50%.
The D-Link AirPlus
Wireless Range Extender provides a repeater signal when deployed in
conjunction with either a wireless router or a second wireless access
point. The repeater function allows the D-Link DWL-800AP+
to receive a signal from a wireless router or access point at up to
328 feet away and then to rebroadcast it to wireless clients on the
outside
edge of the network, creating a stronger and faster connection for those
clients. When set to run in the enhanced 802.11b mode on a D-Link AirPlus
network, the DWL-800AP+ delivers even higher performance at greaterdistances.

The repeater function of the AirPlus DWL-800AP+ supports wireless routers and access points in the D-Link AirPlus line of wireless networking products as well as the enhanced 802.11b+ side of the D-Link AirPro line of dual band products. When using the Wireless Range Extender as a repeater with D-Link AirPlus and
dual mode AirPro routers and access points, little configuration is necessary.
Users simply plug in the device at the edge of the existing wireless network's
range.
The D-Link
AirPlus DWL-800AP+ is an enhanced 2.4GHz 802.11b wirelessaccess point
that is easily setup and managed through a convenient web-based interface.
MAC address authentication and 64/128/256-bit WEP
encryption are included to provide security for data and wirelesscommunications.
The Wireless Range Extender has a high-performance
omni-directional detachable antenna as well as power and linkstatus/activity
LEDs for at-a-glance diagnostics. The access point mode ofthe DWL-800AP+
is completely compatible with any IEEE 802.11b standardwireless client.
