EncoreT/ST G4 1.4GHz upgrade kit for Power Macs and Servers.

Sonnet Technologies, worldwide leader in upgrade cards for Apple Macintosh® computers, introduced the fastest processor Macintosh upgrade in its Encore product line with the announcement of the new EncoreT/ST G4 1.4 GHz for Power Mac® G4 machines. This upgrade utilizes the 745X series of Motorola G4 chips, has 2MB DDR (Double Data Rate) L3 backside cache, and delivers processor performance of up to four times that of the original systems.
In addition to the new 1.4 GHz model, the Encore/ST line also includes speeds of 800 MHz, 1.0 GHz, and 1.2 GHz. All four models are compatible with the following G4 systems that employ AGP graphics:

Power Mac G4 AGP Graphics
- Power Mac G4 Gigabit Ethernet
- Power Mac G4 Digital Audio
- Power Mac G4 Cube
- Power Mac G4 QuickSilver 733, 800DP, 867
- Power Mac G4 Servers (above equiv.)
In order to work in
both 100 MHz and 133 MHz bus speed machines, the new Encore/ST includes
advanced technology that automatically detects the bus speeds of its host
machine and sets the performance of its processor accordingly. The card
integrates seamlessly with all software applications and supports all
operating systems from Mac® OS 9.2 through OS X with no additional
software required.
Pricing-
The Encore/ST G4 1.4 GHz has an estimated street price of $599.95. The
Cube Dealer Installation Kit for this model will be available soon, and
has an estimated street price of $59.95.
