2 Not having a Contact
module in the Windows version puts a crimp in our testing and will be
a discouraging factor in any companies buying consideration where cross
platform commonality is necessary. Randy Murray from Now Software let
us know that Now Contact should be available some time this summer and
that it will be a free upgrade for purchasers of the Windows version
4.5. “Lot’s
a goodies too” You have a spacious calendar layout, which switches from day, week, and month to yearly display. Along the right border you can also display your “To Do” list. When you increase or decrease the application window the calendar components scale automatically. Of course one of the main features of NUDC is that you can setup your calendar on a public or network server, even across platforms. This is crucial to multiplatform companies and something we especially like about NUDC. |

Both Mac and Windows versions are nearly identical looking too, and in most ways very high tech. Some of the reviewers complained though, that the fonts were too small in the calendar views and that they couldn’t find a way to enlarge it. The “To Do” list was also hard to read. We noticed that some fonts, like the months looked jagged and like low resolution graphics. A new addition for Mac users, is a free standalone sync application for OS X Jaguar Address Book; which lets you synchronize all your contact files between NUDC and Address Book. It allows you the
flexibility to choose the direction of the import or export, the categories
of the contacts and the categories into which they are placed. This integration
makes contact duplications a lesser possibility. We tried Address Sync
and it does what it says it will with the modest sized address book we
had on the Mac. |
