D-Link issues
statement on Cisco purchase of Linksys -Quoted
in full - Irvine, CA, March 20, 2003 — We welcome Cisco to the SMB and SOHO consumer market segments. Cisco will bring more attention to the market and their recent acquisition further validates D-Link’s strategic initiatives in these markets. For Cisco to reach out to the consumer at large and come into the field of home networking in retail at this time means that it perceives the massive growth potential in the market, right where our market focus has been. At $686 Million dollars D-Link is more nimble, flexible and small enough that we can react to market needs faster than larger companies with their structured chain of command. Yet we are large enough to call upon our own vast pool of engineering resources and production facilities to quickly turn out exciting next-generation products. Most companies are one to two generations behind us because we’re always working on delivering technology that is ahead of the game. When we see a market need, we quickly build upon it and deliver the best solution in an extremely fast manner. As the fastest growing networking company in retail, D-Link is not going to change our business methods or style. To compete successfully in the fierce, price-sensitive global consumer market |
