Sonnet offers
free Flash Drive with Encore/ST Processor Upgrade Kits.

Sonnet Technologies, has annonced that they have extended the eligibility dates of its promotion for a free 32MB Piccolo USB Flash Drive with every Encore/ST purchase. The original end date of March 31, 2003 has now been extended to April 30, 2003, which adds 30 days to this well-received promotion, and allows for more Sonnet customers to take advantage of this special offer. Since February 1, 2003, each customer who has purchased an Encore/ST 800 MHz, 1.0 GHz, or 1.25 GHz product in the U.S, Canada, Japan, or Europe, becomes eligible to receive a free Sonnet Piccolo 32MB USB Flash Drive. Encore/ST
The Sonnet Encore/ST 800 MHz, 1.0 GHz, and 1.25 GHz processor upgrades
for Power Mac® G4 machines utilize the 745X series of Motorola G4
chips, delivering processor performance of upto three times that of
the original systems. All three models include 2MB DDR (Double Data
Rate) L3 backside cache, the same modern
cache RAM found on
Apple's latest G4 towers. This provides the highest possible performance
and compatibility. The Encore/ST is designed for the following G4 systems
that employ AGP graphics:
- Power Mac G4 AGP Graphics
- Power Mac G4 Gigabit Ethernet
- Power Mac G4 Digital Audio
- Power Mac G4 Quicksilver 2001
- Power Mac G4 Servers (except Xserve)
- Power Mac G4 Cube (Requires Cube Installation Kit and professional
installation.)
In order to work in
both 100 MHz and 133 MHz bus speed machines, the new Encore/ST will automatically
detect the bus speeds of its host machine and run at the specified performance
of its processor. The card integrates seamlessly
with all software applications and supports all operating systems from
Mac® OS 9.2 through OS X with no additional software required.
Piccolo
The Sonnet Piccolo is a USB flash drive, the latest technology in keychain-sized
portable storage. The smallest solution in its class, the
Piccolo plugs straight into any USB port with no additional cables, drivers,
