ADS
Tech (www.adstech.com), a leader in consumer video solutions, today
launched the Dual Link product line for PC’s and Mac’s at
the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) show. In response to
the growing popularity of digital video editing and resulting need for
data storage, ADS Tech has designed Dual Link products to combine and
simplify USB 2.0 and FireWire connectivity. Dual Link offers high speed
performance and Plug and Play ease of use for both USB 2.0 and FireWire
video devices and storage solutions.
Dual-Link
Drive Kit (PC & Mac)
ADS Tech’s newest hardware device, Dual-Link Drive Kit, is designed
to allow users to easily add external FireWire or USB 2.0 drives to
their existing desktop systems. The kit is perfiect for adding multi-gig
storage capacity to a system (via hard drive addition) or equally ideal
for turning a CD or DVD drive into a portable, self-contained unit.
Users simply plug their drive into the sleek smoke and gray casing,
and the drive mounts automatically. Super fast and reliable, the drive
kit provides two 400- Mbps/sec FireWire ports and one 480- Mbps/sec
USB 2.0 port – each offering sustained data transfer rates of
up to 35- Mbps/sec. The kit also includes a pop-out front bezel to cover
a hard drive or it can be removed for CD/DVD drive installation. For
added reliability, the unit is externally powered with both a five-
and 12-volt power supply. In addition, the product includes a lighted
rear power toggle switch and a hard drive activity light so that users
can quickly determine drive access. For security, the Dual-Link Drive
